79 Days

Pre-travel excitement is kept in check by numerous and anxious 'to do' lists.
There is so much to do or is it all in my mind.  There are probably 'to do's' I don't even know are 'to do'.
Small things amuse small minds - yep!  Don't sweat the small stuff - yep!!  I wallow in small things!

Retirement for Trevor is all encompassing. It consumes his time completely. That is when he is not looking at motor homes on line on RV Trader.  Many things are left up to me which is fine.  I can do that.
Planning what to do first; how long before the trip; what priority; what will I forget. And then of course there are the curved balls - the back fence falls down in a storm; my car is taking longer to sell; we don't have tenants yet for our home; Ollie (cat) already knows that we are going to desert her and is not talking to us; Trevor put his hand up to make soup for Crabs!!

Sad ? No time!  Excited? Very!  This is the challenge. Unfortunately, older does not mean wiser in uncharted places.
Two people in a motor home for 12 months, navigating vast spaces, driving on the wrong side of the road, the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car ... car?  It's a bus!

We have both spent more time with friends, workmates and our children than we have with each other over the last nearly 50 years.  Who says we will get on?  We have high expectations of this trip to set us up for the next stage/age of our lives. So - nervous? Only when I have the time.

Then there is the technology - iphone, ipad, ipod, laptop, wireless, internet, gps - all of which we have to become familiar with and embrace very quickly.

Current To Do List stands at 157 items......
