Back in San Francisco

We have been invited to dinner - a lamb roast!
Geoff and Lyn, friends from Perth, are staying with their friends Frank and Corinne who live in Novato, north of the city.
We visit them;  Aussie accents and laughter; a perfect way to start 'looking west' and our thanks to Frank and Corinne for their warm hospitality. The lamb was wonderful!

On Sunday 13 October we go to the football - San Francisco 49ers v Arizona Cardinals at Candlestick Park. The game starts at 1.25pm. We set out early as we are coming from Mill Valley and plan to take public transport. We drive into downtown SF, park in a public car park then walk to the Muni which takes us to 3rd and Gilham. A shuttle bus then takes us on to Candlestick Park.

It is a great day! Beautiful weather! The game takes about 4 hours!!! 4x15minute quarters with a 15 minute half time. The 49ers win.

There is a good crowd; most are 49ers fans. Lots of 49ers shirts, caps and scarves. The carparks are a sea of tail-gate parties.

We get there quite early not knowing how long it would take us to park, train and shuttle. Our seats are good; we have a beer and a hotdog (pricey).

6 planes writing in the sky!

The national anthem is sung by the lead singer from Santana. It is quite beautiful.

After the game we reverse the process back to the car. We drive along the shore past the Bay Bridge then over the Golden Gate bridge to Mill Valley.

We stop for a meal at the Outback Steakhouse. Well .....????????

Every time we drive across the Golden Gate bridge I cannot help myself ... I just have to take some more photos!
