Christmas Day

25 December 2012!

Such a different day, place and country to that we usually wake up to on Christmas Day!
We have a cooked breakfast on the banks of the waterway.  I wanted to open a bottle of champagne but Trevor didn't feel like a glass so I settled for green tea?  Kim where are you?

We went bike riding in the morning through the 'bush' on the other side of the waterway. It looked like alligator territory to me!And we opened our presents to each other.
You are being watched Trevor!
We watched a yacht going through the St Lucie Lock; it is a fascinating process. The Okeechobee waterway runs from the Atlantic intracoastal
at Stuart to Fort Myers on the Gulf intracoastal. There are 5 locks on the waterway; the St Lucie Lock is the highest with an elevation of 14 feet. The process of going through the lock takes about 30 minutes.
Tim has told of a trip he took along the waterway from the Gulf to the Atlantic - he had not been through a lock before he started out but by the end of trip had it down to fine art.

In the afternoon we biked to Tim and Carolyn's for Christmas Dinner. Tim cooked steaks on the bbque - they had been marinated in his special mix and were beautiful! Salads and vegetables and a zuccotto for dessert. A lovely meal.

We retired to the Tiki bar - great day!

A lovely place to share the company of such nice people.
