Gettysburg continued ....

Of course there were many things to do in Gettysburg which did not relate to history or the Civil War.

The trick and treating parade at the campgrond on Saturday night was a great success! So many children all dressed up with parents who were equally enjoying themselves. We ran out of treats and had to beat a hasty retreat!

On Sunday we had a late breakfast at the Gettysburg Family Restaurant - eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes with maple syrup, all on the same plate - beautiful!

We continued to explore the area in our little rental car, a green Mazda 2.  We found a covered bridge (which did play a role in the battle), 2 wineries and lots of beautiful countryside.

One of the wineries operated their tasting a little differently. Each person or party had their own  winery rep. to introduce the different styles of wine - done by a ticket system and you just waited your turn. New to us anyway.

Some of us have to work????

But we know we will have to go back to the Civil War so we are heading for Manassas, Virginia and the start of it all.
Pennsylvania has been quite wonderful; beautiful scenery, loads of history, and pretty nice weather.

A perfect place to spend an hour or so on Sunday!
